My name is Keri Gregory. I am a junior at Marshall University and am majoring in Secondary Education, Biological Studies. This field is focused on teaching students from ninth grade to adult. I also have a minor in psychology. I chose this major because my favorite subject has always been sciences such as biology, anatomy, and microbiology. I also enjoy working with kids; therefore this major is perfect for me.
My unit plan is focused on the disease Malaria. This unit plan will be used in a twelfth grade biology course with students around 17 or 18 years old. I chose this subject to study because it is a disease that affects human beings. From this subject we can learn life cycles of disease, how diseases can affect certain geological area, and teach students research methods. Also, I like that this type of research topic will be able to get the students to collaborate their research through the technology provided and let them lead the lesson.
